World Tree offers a comprehensive and flexible range of publishing services, including editing, typesetting, proofreading, layout, graphic design, illustration and image manipulation. We can undertake individual editorial or graphic tasks required by a publication project, working in concert with other project participants. However, we can also handle publication projects 'under one roof', from manuscript draft to printer-ready PDF output, providing assistance and advice where necessary throughout.
We bring a 'customers' eye view' to our work. Trevor Ashwin has great experience of writing and commissioning, as well as of editing and typesetting. We know a lot about authors' and publishers' hopes and fears! We are familiar with 'real-world' environments, where constraints and deadlines loom large. Our experience as authors, editors and users of books lets us help clients decide on their priorities, and to advise on practical and cost-effective solutions to any issues that arise.
Much of our publications work to date has been in two broad fields - archaeology and history, and environmental and development studies. We are not confined to these specialisms, however. Over the last four years Trevor has worked on a diverse range of projects, and World Tree is keen to expand its practice into new areas.

Editing. Our clients' individual needs are always our starting point. We understand that 'editing' can involve anything from minor adjustments and checking to structural review or partial re-writing. We are fully familiar with working within publishers' existing style regimes. Trevor also has great experience of editing English written by authors for whom it is not a first language.

Typesetting and layout. As well as designing and typesetting books, booklets and academic journals, we also create leaflets, promotional graphics and display material for clients.

Graphics and illustration. We offer a wide range of digital imaging services. As well as scanning and image manipulation, we also undertake vector-based illustration and cartography.

Consultancy. We can provide advice on conventions, format and style development, with regard both to a publication's content and its presentation in print.
